Junior School pupils marked World Book Day by taking part in a wide range of creative and thought-provoking activities.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Stockport Grammar School Year 5 Art Competition welcomed 127 artists from 18 local primary schools to an exhibition evening to showcase their work to family and friends.

As well as lessons in the classroom and within the school site, SGS pupils often embark on trips to support and strengthen their understanding of topics.

On 11th November, staff and pupils from both the Senior and Junior Schools joined Old Stopfordians and guests to remember those who gave their lives in battle.

October is Black History Month and the Junior School have been marking it in a number of ways.

Over the years Stockport Grammar School has welcomed a wide range of great writers onto the site to deliver talks, carry out book signings and conduct workshops. Talented SGS musicians from Year Six to Sixth Form are celebrating after being selected for a range of highly-respected national ensembles.

Speech Day at Stockport Grammar School was an extra-special occasion this year with the official openings of the new Nursery and Sixth Form Centre buildings by Chairman of Governors Mr Christopher Dunn.
