Golf Day raises record amount for Bursary Fund

Now in its 21st year, the Stockport Grammar School Bursary Golf Day in association with Vernon Building Society saw golfers take to the course at Stockport Golf Club to raise money for the Bursary Fund.

Eighteen teams braved the great Stockport summer and took to the greens on Thursday 13th June for the annual fundraising event.

Congratulations to the Merchant Clipper team who lifted the trophy. Second were the team from Adana Construction and in a close third place were Belle Vue Manchester.

Well done to Adrian Knowles for winning the nearest the pin at the 16th and to Nick Ford for the longest drive on the 10th.

The event has raised a record breaking £11,100 for the Bursary Fund. This supports children from less affluent backgrounds to benefit from the excellent education opportunities on offer at SGS with means-tested financial assistance with fees.

Huge thanks to our main sponsor Vernon Building Society, to Stockport Golf Club for their hospitality and first-class course and to all of the teams and sponsors below who make the day a fun, successful and memorable occasion: 10architect, AC Group, Adana Construction, Almond Pubs, B8 Real Estate, Belle Vue Coaches Manchester, Breanheath Cleaning Services, Bullocks Coaches, Mr R Coathup – The Golfer’s Journal, Chariot Office Supplies, Davies Harrison, Excalon, Fineprint, Mrs Debbie Flint, Gateley Vinden, Grays International, Hazel Grove Flowers, HB Accident Repair Network, Ideal Electrical, Intellect Computers, Intersect UK, Jackson Hammond, Jobs in Marketing, Kellands (Hale), Littlewoods Butchers, Merchant Clipper Ltd, MPS Mortgage Planning Services, Picture Lock Films, Prestbury Golf Club, Redbridge Interiors, Roy Geddes Bricks, RRG Lexus, Sigma SDI, Ms Clare Slack, TMT Group, Tom Yam Thai Restaurant, Wilmslow Golf Club, Mr Roger Yates, Your Luxury Holiday.
