Towards the end of the 2023-2024 academic year, 264 young mathematicians from 38 primary schools across Greater Manchester gathered at Stockport Grammar School for the annual Maths Challenge for Year 5 children.

The popular maths challenge ran three sessions testing each team’s maths, problem-solving and team-working skills across three rounds. This included a relay race around the Hallam Hall!

The challenge is the creation of the SGS Maths department and is designed to inspire and enthuse Year 5 pupils to enjoy the subject.
