Year 5 and 6 Choir tour a super success

The Year 5 and 6 Choir enjoyed a successful music tour to Blenheim and Oxford, during which they performed in Blenheim Palace Chapel and Merton College Chapel to hugely appreciative audiences.

The children were fine ambassadors for the school and the staff received many compliments about the pupils.

Compliments mentioned their beautiful singing, how much they seemed to be enjoying themselves, how smart they looked and how well behaved they were.

At Blenheim, the well-organised Education Team had arranged a tour of the palace.

Afterwards, the girls and boys enjoyed some free time in the extensive grounds, visiting the ducks and heading to the Harry Potter tree!

The acoustics in the chapels at Blenheim and Merton were incredible and it was a huge privilege to have been able to sing in such beautiful venues.

The weekend included sight-seeing, shopping, museum visits, a tour of Oxford, meals out and ten-pin bowling.

The pupils also had the opportunity to hear one of the most respected choirs in the country when they attended a service in Magdalen College Chapel on Sunday morning.

Thank you to everyone who came to support the trip. And well done to the children for being super SGJS ambassadors!

Back in school, the pupils put on a concert for members of the SGS community that were not able to make it to one of the tour performances.
