Twenty-three members of the Senior rugby team immersed themselves in a wide range of activities during a memorable five-day trip to the Basque region.

Based in the south of France, just outside of Bayonne in the beautiful ocean side village of Anglet, the boys certainly made the most of the weather and the local activities on offer.

The group didn’t have much time to catch their breath thanks to a jam-packed itinerary.

They played two matches against local teams – one in France and one in Spain – and enjoyed testing themselves against international opposition.

At Mont de Marson they took their seats in the stands to take in a professional game of rugby.

On a guided walking tour of Bordeaux they got to find out more about the history of the port city and they also explored Biarritz, a beautiful city based on the Bay of Biscay.

The sporty pupils also visited Pamplona, the capital city of the Chartered Community of Navarre in Spain.

During their time by the sea they went surfing and sea kayaking at Socoa and took part in competitive games of beach volleyball. They also tried their hand at pelota.
