MFL Munich trip develops pupils’ language skills
Third and Fourth Year pupils put their linguistic knowledge to the test as they embarked on a fun and educational Modern Foreign Languages trip to Munich.

The students made the most of their time in the Bavarian capital as they visited a wide range of historical and cultural sites.

The group braved the snow to see Neuschwanstein Castle, a 19th-century palace on the Alps near the border with Austria, and headed to the town of Füssen, a location that is known for violin manufacturing.

The explored various locations in the city centre, took a tour of the Allianz Arena – home of FC Bayern Munich, and visited the Deutsches Museum, the world’s largest museum of science and technology.

The MFL pupils also found out more about the history of BMW as the knowledgeable guides took them on an informative tour around their museum.

At the cinema they watched the movie ‘Captain America’ in German with no subtitles – a great test of their knowledge of the language.

They also had dinner at the famous Hofbräuhaus and took part in some competitive games of bowling.
