Meals
Our approach to food and nutrition
At Stockport Grammar School, we recognise that food is an important part of school life. Our catering team provides a varied and balanced menu each day, offering onsite, freshly prepared meals alongside fresh fruit, vegetables, salads and other nutritious options. Emphasis is placed on providing fibre-rich foods, quality sources of protein and balanced meals to help support our pupils’ wellbeing, development and concentration throughout the school day.
Our menus and ingredients are reviewed regularly to reflect current nutritional guidance, cater for a range of dietary requirements and encourage healthy habits for life.
Allergies and dietary requirements
The health and safety of our pupils is priority. Comprehensive allergen information is available for all meals, and our catering team works closely with the School to support pupils with allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements. As food is prepared in an environment where allergens, including gluten, are present, we ask parents to inform us of any dietary needs so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Lunch
Lunch is an important part of the school day and all Senior School pupils remain on site for lunch. Our rotating three-week menu offers a broad selection of hot meals, vegetarian choices, freshly prepared salads, filled breads, jacket potatoes, fruit and desserts, ensuring pupils can enjoy a balanced meal each day.
