The U15 rugby 7s are smashing it on the pitch, picking up the top prize at both the AKS Lytham Tournament and the Dean Schofield Cup.

At the AKS Lytham competition the team topped their group with strong victories against Lytham High School (29-12), Wirral Grammar School (19-12) and Birkenhead School (33-10).

They saw off Bolton School in a close semi-final (21-19) before turning in their best performance of the day and defeating Lancaster Royal Grammar School 33-5 in the final.

At the Dean Schofield Cup held at Audenshaw School the boys went through as Group A winners after bagging victories against Lymm High School, Calday Grange Grammar School and St Edward’s College.

A 28-12 semi-final win against Wilmslow High School set up a title decider against Lancaster Royal Grammar School. SGS had a 17-7 lead going into the break and in the second period they took further control and picked up three quick scores to put the final out of reach.
