Senior Sports Day: Talent, teamwork and House pride
Senior Sports Day was a resounding success with pupils proudly representing their House in a range of field and track events. The day also saw four records get broken!
Amber Bright Thomas broke the 300m girls record and Molly Mills broke the javelin, long jump and 100m girls’ records.
Once the points from all the events were collated, Vernon (241) pipped Nicholson (239) to top spot. Warren (231) placed third and Arden (218) finished fourth.
The Victor Ludorum was awarded to Will Jones, and the Victrix Ludorum was given to Molly Mills – both athletes won all of their three events!
Director of Sport Mr Andy Marsh said: “It was a privilege to oversee what proved to be an exceptional Athletics Sports Day for our Fifth Year, Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth pupils. The afternoon was a true celebration of athletic talent, determination and house spirit, with Warren, Arden, Nicholson and Vernon all competing with great pride and intensity.
“From the outset, the atmosphere was electric. Pupils fully embraced the opportunity to represent their houses, and this was reflected in the high standard of performances across both track and field events. Every race, jump and throw carried significance, with valuable points at stake and strong encouragement from teammates on the sidelines. The sense of camaraderie, coupled with fierce competition, made for a thoroughly engaging and memorable event.”
