Incredible creativity on display at annual art exhibition
The 2025 annual A Level and GCSE Art Exhibition provided visitors with the opportunity to see the wealth of creative talent present among our young artists in the Fifth Year and Upper Sixth year groups.

A prominent feature in the school’s calendar, the show marks the culmination of at least two years of study and is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements.

Perhaps a feature unique to art and design is that it offers the opportunity for pupils to present ‘a personal response’ when addressing the requirements of the specification and, consequently, each year’s exhibition features work that is unique.

The opportunity to explore media and techniques freely when developing ideas is encouraged and making mistakes and changing direction at a mid-point are considered part of the learning process, often leading to more accomplished resolved work.

As well as responding to traditional subject matter such as still life, portraiture, movement and architecture, pupils had addressed more unusual and sometimes challenging subject matter.

Alongside drawn and painted outcomes, a range of media including drypoint and lino print, textiles, collagraphs, silk painting, ceramics, 3D and photography had been employed successfully.

Head of Art Mr Richard Davies said: “The positive feedback from the evening was richly deserved and the pupils can be proud of the effort that went into making such a fabulous show.”
