Drama summer show a scintillating success
Theatrical pupils from Second to Fourth Year delivered two hugely entertaining and laugh-out-loud performances of ‘Bad Auditions by Bad Actors’.

Ian McWethy’s play follows newbie director Carol who has one day to find the leads for a community theatre production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

But what seems like a simple task proves impossible when the pool of auditioners enter her rehearsal room.

Directed by Drama Teacher Mrs Alison Moffatt, the play’s fast pace and clever script were brought to life with great energy, timing, and confidence by the entire cast.

The audience were thoroughly engaged from beginning to end and the pupils handled the comedy brilliantly, leaning into the exaggerated characters and absurd situations with real enthusiasm.

Each performer brought something unique to the stage, whether it was physical comedy, deadpan humour, or over-the-top dramatic delivery.

Their commitment to the ridiculous nature of the roles made every audition scene funnier than the last.

The cast worked brilliantly as an ensemble and clearly enjoyed every moment, which made the performance all the more enjoyable for the audience.

A fantastic showcase of developing talent and a real credit to the school!
