Mock Trial success for Year 6 pupils
A selection of Year 6 pupils had an exhilarating and memorable time at the final of the Greater Manchester Magistrates Association Mock Trial Competition.
The group got off to a cracking start, setting the bar high with an impressive performance as the prosecution in a case involving a young person accused of possessing a bladed article.
The team’s convincing, articulate and emotive performance captivated the court.
The performers, our two magistrates, court reporter and court artist have been a fantastic team, showing fabulous commitment and enthusiasm throughout and making their teachers very proud.
The team were thrilled to be crowned as the winners, and Savar was pleased to be credited as the best individual performer in the school team.
After the trial, the children threw themselves into the wide range of activities on offer: a fascinating workshop on knife crime, exploring the riot kit with Greater Manchester Police, learning more about drug safety, and finally testing their skills to see who could throw the water safety rescue rope the furthest.
