Early Years enjoy festive Elf Day

Early Years children had so much fun becoming an elf for the day!

Nursery pupils arrived at ‘Alfaskolinn’ – Icelandic Elf School – very excited and ready to learn how to be an elf.

They collected their elf-name sticker and joined their team for the day: Team Santa, Team Rudolph, Team Christmas Tree, or Team Candy Cane.

Guided by the older elves Twinkle, Pixie, Trixie and Jolly, the children earned their elf certificate by baking crispy cake puddings in Mrs Claus’ kitchen, making snow globes, and painting and glittering their clay Christmas tree. They then raced each other to deliver presents.

At the end of a very busy day, the new elves enjoyed a hot chocolate treat and a magical Christmas story.

Pupil Rafe G said: “It was amazing – the best day ever!”

In Reception, the girls and boys enjoyed doing lots of crafts in Santa’s workshop where they made festive photo frames, Santa bags and Christmas trees.

The pupils loved getting creative and had fun getting their hands dirty as they put them in paint to create antlers for their artwork.

The day concluded with a hot chocolate and a treat whilst watching a Christmas film.
