Juniors shine on stage in nativities

Pupils in Years 1 and 2 dressed up as sheep for their nativity

Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils had so much fun performing nativity shows for their families.

Nursery and Reception children had a ball delivering catchy songs and playing charismatic characters in ‘Baarmy Bethlehem’.

Girls and boys dressed up as sheep, angels, innkeepers, shepherds, camels and kings as they joined Mary, Joseph, a donkey, Caesar, a star, and the party sheep – Cheeky, Rascal and Scamp – on a trip to Bethlehem.

Assuming a celebration was happening in Bethlehem, the party sheep escaped their flock to join the festivities. Whilst not finding a party, they did discover the nativity story unfolding right before their eyes.

There was also a livestock theme to the Year 1 and 2 nativity as Key Stage 1 children performed ‘The Fleece Force’.

Bethlehem is being looked after by the titular characters, but their job of ensuring that only those who are there for the census are let in is made harder as the nativity story sees lots of visitors turn up.

The pupils worked hard to make the show a success and Year 1 Charlotte M said “I liked singing all the songs beside my friends.”

Year 2 pupil Lily D commented: “I really liked that the children and parents enjoyed the nativity – it was so cheerful.”
