New Chair of Governors
We are pleased to announce that Mr Paul Brearley has assumed the role of Chair of Governors, effective February 2026.
Paul has been a valued member of the Governing Body for several years and previously served as Vice Chair (Elect), contributing significantly to strategic planning and governance.
Paul succeeds Mrs Hazel Tritschler, who led the Board with dedication and will continue to serve as a Governor. We remain deeply grateful for Hazel’s leadership and her continued commitment to the school.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Brearley said: “It is a great privilege and an honour to have been made Chair of Governors. At this important time, there are currently many uncertainties in the world, but we continue to plan for the future, evidenced by our moving forward with the new Sports Pavilion, a major investment on site, which should be completed in autumn 2027.”
We look forward to working with Paul as he leads the Governing Body and supports the ongoing success and development of Stockport Grammar School.
As part of the changes Mrs Shazia Book will take up the role of Vice Chair (Elect). Mr Paul Carr will continue in the role of Vice Chair (Non-Elect) through to March 2027, providing valuable continuity and support.
