Pupils utilise maths knowledge during Disneyland trip
Fourth Year pupils learnt why the Walt Disney Company needs mathematicians at all stages of its operations, from making films to running its theme parks, during a visit to Disneyland Paris.
The Middle School pupils got to see how Disney use maths to calculate the success, cost effectiveness and efficiency of their rides, and how different forces act on us whilst we are on them.

They were then tasked with going out into the parks to record these forces on a special physics instrument app and report their findings.
They also worked out the capacity of the rides, calculating how many people could ride them in an hour.

As well as the maths, there was also a lot of Disney and ride-related fun – enjoyed by pupils and staff alike!

This is the second year in a row that the excursion has run and we look forward to future Fourth Year groups enjoying this for trip for many years to come.
