Third Years thrive in theatre in education workshops
As part of the Third Year curriculum, Drama pupils devised bespoke theatre in education performances for local primary schools.

During the Spring Term all five Third Year drama classes visited five different schools, delivering performances and workshops on topics including the Romans, Vikings, fair trade, and ‘Stockport from the Viaduct’.

In total, around 500 primary school pupils took part in the sessions.

The project not only prepares those considering GCSE Drama by introducing devising to a brief, but it also develops valuable soft skills as pupils lead workshop activities with younger children.

Pupil Qaliah Quaiyoom said: “It was a poignant experience to work with the children and teach them what we’ve been learning,” and Eleanor Harding added: “The hard work paid off and the children were really engaged.”
