Year 2 pupils explore, enjoy and create

Year 2 pupils have been enjoying lots of great activities in and out of the classroom over the past few weeks.

They had the best time with the ball and racket as they developed their tennis skills under expert coaching at The Northern Lawn Tennis Club.

Teamwork and enthusiasm were on full show at the taster sessions and the girls and boys certainly worked up an appetite which they satisfied with a tasty pizza!

Maths learning was brought to life as they enjoyed time in the school’s forest area.

They did a ‘Maths in Nature’ activity which involved measuring the mass of objects like pinecones, twigs, leaves, stones and soil.

The children perfected reading the scales accurately whilst measuring in grams.

Finally, amazing creativity has been on display in Craft and Construction Club this half term.

The pupils particularly enjoyed their most recent activity – making a spring bouquet. Many of them are choosing to save them to give to someone special for Mother’s Day!
