Year 5 and 6 Choir tour strikes a chord

Sixty members of the Year 5 and 6 Choir, along with seven staff, enjoyed a four-day tour of Blenheim Palace and Oxford.

The children gave two wonderful performances in Blenheim Palace Chapel and Merton College Chapel, presenting a varied programme of sacred and secular music across a range of genres.

Alongside their musical commitments, they enjoyed a full programme of activities, including meals out, shopping, palace and city walking tours, ten pin bowling, and a series of workshops at Christ Church Cathedral.

Their excellent behaviour was praised by venue staff and members of the public everywhere they went. We are incredibly proud of them.

Preview Concert

A few days ahead of the trip the Choir treated parents to a wonderful preview concert where they performed a selection of the pieces that they would be singing on the tour.

The vocalists delivered a wide range of songs based on the theme of ‘A Time for Singing’.

Rosa, Alice and Charlotte gave beautiful performances in a short ‘pre-concert’, and it was a lovely opportunity for families to see the hard work that had gone into preparing for this exciting musical adventure.
