Super SPA Christmas Fair delights attendees
The Stopfordian Parents’ Association (SPA) hosted its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday 30th November 2024 and we are delighted to announce that it raised over £11k!
Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to browse the many amazing gift stalls whilst listening to the school’s carol singers. Year 6 pupils dressed up as elves and Santa’s Grotto was consistently busy and included a magical photo booth!
Stalls in the Hallam Hall once again served the most delicious food, and children had a chance to win many prizes at the teddy, chocolate, and bottle tombola – as well as collecting as many golden tickets as possible in the Santa game!
There was never a quiet moment at the jar hoopla and lucky dip – and who couldn’t resist an indoor snowball fight in the inflatable Snow Brawl!
Last, but certainly not least, was the ever-popular coconut shy and a bit of beauty at the nail bar.
The SPA would like to thank Mr Cooke for organising the inaugural Santa Dash this year. The winning teams were the ‘Galloping Grinches’ and ‘On Frances! On James! On Charlotte! On Martha!’. We are already looking forward to more teams participating in next year’s Dash!
The raffle was a great success, raising more funds than ever before, with amazing prizes including a £400 voucher to Selfridges donated by Reside Stockport. The winning ticket was sold by a Senior School father who outdid himself with selling tickets out of his shop!
The Senior School’s Amnesty+ club had a stall at the Fair as they fundraised for UNICEF. Thank you to Fifth Years Elena Patsias, Chloe Harmer, Clara Minnock, Phoebe Fox, Benji Miller and Eason Fong for the planning and Upper Sixth students Magda Zelazny, Elsa Mullins and Grace Lorimer for running the stall.
Lots of other pupils helped out on the day – one of which was First Year Ethan Colledge. Ethan used his spare time to set up a stall for Francis House Children’s Hospice. He priced up the merchandise before the day, organised the display, served customers on the stall and even helped to pack up afterwards. The stall raised and incredible £300 from the shop merchandise and a further £100 on an idea to raffle two huge glass jars full of goodies, making a grand total of £400!
A huge thank you to all the parents of the Senior and Junior School who volunteered to make this year’s Fair the best one yet!
