‘Like, Literary’ 2025: A double edition of creative brilliance
The 2025 edition of ‘Like, Literary’, the school’s annual literary magazine, has been published and, due to the sheer quality and number of contributors, it has been split into two engrossing editions – a Humanities edition and a Science edition.
Both follow the ‘Confronting Conventions’ theme and co-editors Cara Bell and Louisa White noted: “Literature not only thrives in following conventions but also in bending, breaking, and reimagining them as our global society aims to advance. ‘Confronting Conventions’ is a broad theme which has allowed our diverse sections, led by passionate individuals, to flourish.”

The Humanities edition is split into six sections. Daisy Ogden was the editor for the Literary Criticism section, Bella Evans curated the Politics section, and Samuel Sutton presided over the Philosophy section.
Annabel Huxley complied the Languages section, Jamie Rogers brought together the Film and TV section, and the edition was concluded with Maizie Farrar’s collection of Classical Civilisation articles.

The Science edition began with Tabby Bloor’s Medicine section, Luke Mackey collated the Economics articles, and Jaya Bright-Thomas was in charge of the Psychology section. The final section was Physics, looked after by Lilly Cook.
In her foreword for the magazine, Head Mrs Sarah Capewell wrote: “The articles in this edition, covering such a wide range of interesting and relevant topics, demonstrate how passionate the writers are about their individual and varied topics.”
English Teacher Ms Helen Roberts facilitated and co-ordinated the magazine. She concluded: “It is amazing that we have been able to create two separate editions of this year’s ‘Like, Literary’ magazine. I am thoroughly impressed with the effort that each article writer, section editor, and co-editor has put in.
“All of the Lower Sixth contributors should be really pleased with themselves – the magazine is a joy to read!”
