New partnership to create opportunities for young people across Stockport
Stockport Grammar School is delighted to announce a new partnership with SAS Daniels, bringing together two organisations with strong local roots and a shared commitment to supporting young people and making a positive difference across the town.
Beginning in summer 2026, the collaboration will see an initial two-year programme of activity spanning sport, enrichment, arts and culture, and careers education. Driven by a belief in the power of connection, aspiration and community engagement, the initiative aims to provide valuable experiences that help young people develop confidence, broaden their horizons and prepare for life beyond school.

A central ambition is to extend opportunities beyond the school gates, working alongside local schools and organisations to encourage participation, celebrate achievement and foster stronger links between different parts of the community. By combining expertise, resources and networks, both organisations hope to create initiatives that deliver lasting benefits for young people across the area.
The first activities will take place this summer: a community cricket match and a girls’ football tournament in collaboration with Stockport County. Bringing together pupils from schools across the town, these events will promote teamwork, inclusion and enjoyment, while helping participants build confidence, develop new skills and form lasting friendships. As part of its support, SAS Daniels will provide sports equipment and/or funding to participating schools, helping to enhance sporting provision in those local schools.

Beyond sport, the programme will include a range of enrichment and careers initiatives, giving pupils opportunities to learn from professionals from a variety of backgrounds and gain valuable insight into future pathways. Looking ahead, there are also aspirations to expand engagement with alumni and the wider community, creating even more opportunities for connection and collaboration.

While the partnership begins with an initial programme of activity through to 2028, both organisations share a commitment to supporting the local community and creating opportunities for young people across Stockport. Through sport, enrichment and community engagement, the partnership aims to make a positive and lasting contribution to the town for years to come.
