Thank you to our amazing SPA Parents’ Association
The Stopfordian Parents’ Association (SPA) do an amazing job organising fun activities and events for pupils and parents to enjoy whilst raising funds to enhance the children’s experience throughout the whole school.
Parents of pupils across the entire school are automatically part of the SPA. You can get involved by joining the committee, attending meetings, organising events or becoming a class representative – just email spa@stockportgrammar.co.uk to find out more.
During the 2023-2024 academic year, the SPA raised a phenomenal £30,642! This total included funds from the Christmas Fair, Summer Soiree, Uniform Sales, Quiz Night, Christmas Cards, Bags 2 School and Sports Day.
The SPA have put this money to great use on a number of projects. And a substantial contribution to the Bursary Fund to provide a year’s school fees for a child who otherwise could not attend SGS. An enormous thank you to the SPA!
A birds of prey visit, Scooter Day, Circus Day, forest learning taster days and a Christmas Show were some of the projects the SPA sponsored for Infants whilst Junior School pupils benefitted with funds going towards a panto, the School Council display board, the Reading Area Arts Project and Year 6’s Prizegiving books and Leavers party.
In the Senior School, gym equipment was upgraded, new House sports bibs were purchased, new sewing machines were bought, and Prefect hoodies were obtained.
Elsewhere, funds were made available for new musical instruments and a contribution for the new minibus.
