The Under 13 girls’ hockey team have had a season to remember as they secured the In2Hockey Northwest Region Tier 2 title in truly impressive fashion.

Competing against strong opposition throughout the tournament, the team played seven games, demonstrating resilience, skill and outstanding teamwork from start to finish. Of those seven matches, two were hard-fought draws and five were strong wins, proving just how competitive the tournament was and how well the team played throughout the day.

In the end, the title was decided on goal difference – and the SGS girls held their nerve. Their attacking flair and defensive discipline across the competition ensured they edged ahead to claim top spot. Finishing close behind in second place were Windermere School, who pushed the competition right to the final whistle. The narrow margin only highlights how consistent and determined the team had to be to lift the trophy.

While this success was built on collective effort, there were several outstanding individual performances across the tournament. Players stepped up in key moments – from crucial saves under pressure, to decisive tackles, to clinical finishes in front of goal. Every member of the squad contributed to this remarkable achievement.

Congratulations to the entire team on an exceptional season!
