Early on a Sunday morning in December, 67 excited Second Year pupils embarked on a journey to Sestriere, Italy, for the much-anticipated school ski trip.

A long day of travel followed, arriving at the Villagio Olimpico Hotel late afternoon, setting the stage for an unforgettable week.

The skiing adventure began the following day, with pupils’ abilities ranging from complete beginners to seasoned veterans of the slopes.

Over the next five days, pupils participated in intensive skiing lessons, spending hours each day honing their skills. It was remarkable to see their confidence grow through the week. The instructors were impressed with the students’ progress, noting how quickly they adapted to the challenges of skiing.

Outside of lessons, the pupils quickly settled into the routine and became more organised. Meals at the hotel were varied, with the highlight being the fresh pizza available daily, much to the delight of the pupils.

Evenings were filled with a variety of activities designed to entertain and engage the students. Highlights included a trip to the cinema where they enjoyed the showing of ‘Red One’, a lively disco at a local nightclub, which provided a fun and energetic atmosphere, and a magic show that captivated the audience with its impressive tricks and illusions.

One of the most memorable evening events was the game of ‘Taskmaster’, superbly hosted by Mrs Jenner and Mr Allen, which brought out the competitive spirit in everyone and resulted in lots of laughter and memorable moments.

Throughout the trip, the pupils were a credit to the school, demonstrating excellent behaviour and camaraderie. Their positive attitude and willingness to support each other were evident in every activity, both on and off the slopes. The teachers and staff were proud of how the students represented the school.

The trip was a resounding success and provided the pupils with an experience they will likely cherish for years to come.
