The Autumn 2024 edition of the school’s termly magazine, Taking Stock, is now available to download and read from the Magazines and Publications section of the school website.

To mark Black History Month 2024 Junior School pupils explored the work of different artists in their year groups. Their work was then put on display in reception.

During October and November Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) visit schools to talk about fire safety.

As part of their ‘Animals’ topic, Year 1 had a very exciting visit from Cheshire Falconry, which was kindly funded by the Stopfordian Parents’ Association.

Junior School pupils celebrated National Poetry Day, the UK’s biggest mass celebration of poetry, by looking at a number of poems and stories and getting creative with a host of activities.

Stockport Grammar Junior School is committed to developing the skills of citizenship, personal responsibility and care for one another. As part of this commitment, Year 6 pupils were invited to apply for positions of responsibility. Below is the list for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Residentials are a great way for pupils to build relationships with others in their year group and to develop new skills. In the summer term, Years 3, 5 and 6 enjoyed their fun-filled trips.

The latest edition of Old Stops’ Review, our annual magazine featuring news from and interviews with Old Stopfordians, is out now.

Parents, pupils, and staff gathered in the Dining Hall to ring in the final event of the Junior School academic year – Prize Giving.

The Junior School’s Charity team were thrilled to raise a spectacular £1,774 for The British Red Cross during the final charity event of the year.

Sports Day brought to an end the excellent year of results and performances across the range of sports offered to all Junior School pupils.

Now in its 21st year, the Stockport Grammar School Bursary Golf Day in association with Vernon Building Society saw golfers take to the course at Stockport Golf Club to raise money for the Bursary Fund.

The Year 5 and 6 Choir enjoyed a successful music tour to Blenheim and Oxford, during which they performed in Blenheim Palace Chapel and Merton College Chapel to hugely appreciative audiences.

Excited Year 6 pupils were invited in to the Senior School’s Design and Technology building to participate in a Food and Nutrition practical session.

Year 6 pupils ventured to the Stockport Air Raid Shelters and Staircase House to experience what it would have been like to be an evacuee during wartime.
